Are you gearing up for the upcoming tuna season and in need of some top-notch tuna rod recommendations? Look no further! We’ve got a list of top-performing tuna rods used by our pro-staff member, Jonathan from Rhode Island. Here’s what he uses, from left to right (Video above):
*Black Hole USA Cape Cod Special 7’6 Nano Popping Rod:
This rod is a staple for any serious angler. Its durability and strength make it a great choice for battling those big tunas.
*Prototype 7’6” Nanofin* Popping Rod (Coming Soon!):
This rod is still in the prototype phase but promises to be a game-changer in the popping rod market. Stay tuned for its release! Our new “NANOFIN” Series are lighter than the Cape Cod Special Nano & Graphite Popping series, yet heavier than our Magic Eye Popping rods. This new series promises to offer a unique balance of lightness and strength.
*Challenger Bank 801MH & 801M Rods:
These rods are known for their versatility and reliability, making them a favorite among many anglers. The "M" ("Medium") was originally designed mainly for blackfish and fluke. And the "MH" (Medium Heavy) is very popular for monster size Striper and deep-water fluke, and blackfin tuna as well.
*Giant Flex 5’9" Spinning Jigging Rod:
Giant Flex 6' Blank, cut down to 5'9" (custom-built by Zack's Customs). The rod offers a unique blend of flexibility and strength, perfect for those challenging catches. The new 6' Giant Flex Blank can be also built as a trolling rod with the bent butt with roller guides. Excellent for jigging, chunking, live bait, kite fishing, etc.
*Cape Cod Special 150g, 250g, 350g, & 550g Jigging Rods:
These rods are specially designed for jigging, offering a range of weights for different fishing conditions.
*Cape Cod Special Slow Pitch Jigging B-632H2MF Rod:
This rod is designed for slow pitch jigging, a technique that can be highly effective for catching tuna. This series is also known as "Fluke to Tuna Rod". It is excellent for Fluke, Grouper, Amberjack, Yellowtail, Halibut, and small Tuna.
