Q&A about our Cape Cod Special Nano Popping Rod!

Question:

Hello, hope all is well. I am in the market for the Cape Cod 8 foot nano spinning rod but need to double check something first. I normally throw poppers between 2 oz to 5 oz. Although it says the rod is made for 3.5-7 oz, would it be able to manage a 2 oz popper? I tend to have better luck getting bites on these smaller sized popper and want to make sure that the rod will be able to throw those. I am pairing it up with a Shimano twin power 14k with 65 pound braid. Fish tend to range between 40-200 lbs.

Nano rod is awesome, sorry I work in grams and had googled quickly to change to oz . Personally I wont go Lighter than 80 grams 2.8 oz. Above that its fine. My fav weight popper for the GTs is 120 grams (4.3oz) but I've thrown plenty with 80g & 100g.  If it's GT you are catching I can also suggest some lures that will be beneficial in that weight class. Can't go wrong with the Nano 8ft. I pair mine with a Saltiga 14k and 80lbs braid using the above weight lures.
